

Dr. Twanisha R. Garner
Dr. Twanisha R. Garner is a dedicated educator and instructional leader with over 29 years of experience in South Carolina’s public schools. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences, promoting academic excellence, and supporting the growth of both students and educators.
Most recently, Dr. Garner served as Coordinator of Teaching and Learning, where she worked closely with instructional coaches, led professional development across grade levels, and helped design K–12 pacing guides to support consistent, high-quality instruction. Prior to that, she was the Principal of a Title I elementary school, where she led the school to an “Excellent” rating on the state report card. Under her leadership, the school implemented Visible Learning strategies, launched a Parent University to strengthen family engagement, and enhanced student support systems through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
Dr. Garner began her journey in the classroom, teaching both elementary and middle school students in a range of settings—always focused on meeting students where they are and helping them grow. She holds a Ph.D. in Education with a focus on Post-Secondary and Adult Education, along with master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Rehabilitation Counseling, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
Over the years, her work has been recognized at both the state and national levels, including honors such as South Carolina Assistant Principal of the Year and the National Outstanding Assistant Principal Award. Whether leading a school, coaching teachers, or supporting students, Dr. Garner brings heart, experience, and a deep belief in the power of education to transform lives.
